Sundancer Resort

The beautiful island beach shack is a Caribbean style bungalow or cabana located in a small private, and quiet resort called Sundancer. It is near SandyBay, on one of the Bay Islands, Roatan, off the coast of Honduras.  This vacation paradise is located about 5 miles from Roatan International Airport (RTB) with free transportation by Sundancer.  It is also near the West End (about 3 miles), next to Anthony's Key Resort and Dolphin Adventure.  The West End is where you will find numerous restaurants, bars and shops.  Frequent taxi service will get you there for about $1 a person.  Click this link for more information http://www.roatanonline.com/dining.htm on West End and Island eateries, information and attractions. 

There are direct flights on Saturdays and Sundays from Miami, Houston, Atlanta and soon New York.  Direct flights from Southern airports get you to the island in less than 3 hours.  Travel from San Diego, connecting in Houston takes about 7 hours.  Presently, three major airlines service Roatan (RTB), www.taca.com www.continental.com  www.delta.com with www.americanairlines.com to begin service in November 2006.  From Montana it is often much cheaper to book seperate tickets for each leg, Montana to Houston then Houston to Roatan.

The beach shack is an island paradise, where you can kick back and enjoy a variety of seasonal fruits and nuts at arm's length including coconuts, breadfruit, avocados, and mangos.  Or for those who prefer, an ice cold Salva Vida (life saver), a Honduran beer that does as the names implies and some fresh shrimp or lobster brought in by the local fleet.


Snorkel through crystal clear waters on the world's second largest barrier reef that lies 250 yards from the end of our dock pictured below. Or SCUBA dive the 60' deep channel and wall that starts 200' to the left or our dock and goes out to the reef.  For fisherman, enjoy bonefish fishing on the reef or big game fishing just off the reef.

Amenities

On site, The Blue Parrot, serves up excellent bacon wrapped filet mignon and lobster with the coldest beer I've had for under $15, Bob also has a fully stocked bar. Or just a short taxi ride are the many eateries of West End.  Or have a BBQ at the Sundancer pool and happy hour on the private Sundancer dock.

            


 

Upper unit 4A ("A" units are Above/ Upper)features 2 bedrooms, a loft and a bathroom.  It also has a full kitchen, nice size living room and a private deck.  Unlike other units, Unit 4A is surrounded by the most beautiful gardens at the resort yet is one of the few buildings that is a just a few steps (about 75) from the beach(use Google Earth measuring tools to check for yourself) and has some ocean views depending on the growth of the trees.

WHEN CARLOS WILL DO THE DRIVING!  Unless you plan on driving everyday save some money and the parking problems of Coxen Hole by hiring Juan Carlos Rodrique.  My friend Carlos speaks great English and Spanish and can take you anywhere on the island for a fair price.
